I don't know if this is something I want to write about in a public way or not. Sat next to a woman at a training today. She introduced herself as Christine and asked my name. She misunderstood me, so as I so often have to, I repeated my name. This time she heard me and repeated it in a beautiful French accent. I immediately began to weep. It has been so long since I've heard anyone say my name the way my grandmother used to.
a nonsequitur, but here's a quote I like:
And silence, like a poultice comes / to heal the blows of sound.
--Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. (1809-1894)
